May was extremely dry over Mid-Michigan and the Thumb. Unofficial but good data shows May 2023 was the third driest May on record in Saginaw/Bay City area. Flint had a top-10 dry May. The total May rainfall map shows the lack of rain especially for west-central Lower Michigan into central Lower Michigan and the Tri-Cities area. The lightest green part of the map signifies only one-half inch to one-inch of rainfall occurred this May. May has historically average 3.5 inches of rain. Total May rainfall through May 30, 2023.
